Our Residential Appraisers
We perform valuation assignments on all types of residential properties, from vacant lots, rural acreages and single-family dwellings to multi-dwelling and high value ocean front estates. We are fascinated by the boldness of new design, the charm of old architecture, classic period dwellings, innovation, and renovation opportunities. We are at the forefront of emerging market trends.
Richard Widdowson, BA, CRA is a principal of the firm. He has been appraising residential real estate in Greater Victoria since 1992. He is the lead appraiser, providing direct supervision and mentorship to the team. He works throughout Greater Victoria, but his main geographic area of concentration is the region’s core (Victoria, Oak Bay, Saanich, and Esquimalt). Richard is a graduate of the Urban Economics and Geography program from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario.
Robert Bugera, BSc., CRA joined our firm in 2005. His geographic area of concentration is the West Shore including View Royal, Langford, Colwood, Metchosin, the Highlands, Sooke and beyond, as well as areas north of the Malahat including Shawnigan Lake, Mill Bay and Cobble Hill. Robert has an undergraduate degree in Geography from the University of Victoria.
Elaine Sela, BSc., CRA joined our firm in 2006. Her geographic area of concentration is the Saanich Peninsula including Sidney and Brentwood Bay, as well as the southern Gulf Islands. Elaine has a Bachelor of Science degree from Simon Fraser University.
Tara Jones, CRA is the newest member of our firm, joining us in 2010. She has been working as a residential appraiser in Greater Victoria since 2005. She provides roaming coverage across the region.
Ursula Bates, CRA has worked in various capacities for us since 1997. She has been appraising since 1982. She now works with us on occasion in a review and mentorship role.
